The work consisted primarily of upgrading downtown parking structures (The Aquarium, The Pike, Civic Center, City Place, and The Convention Center) with vehicle occupancy technology/ communications. Included in this project is the deployment of up to six fixed roadside changeable message signs (CMS) to route drivers to convenient parking structures/ lots closest to their place of interest, deployment of a centralized software system that integrates the parking structure vehicle occupancy technology, and the CMS boards for controller remote access from the Traffic Management Center.
